The Partners in Policymaking program aimed at developing parent advocates and self advocates, is brought to you by the California Collaborative. Our collaborative consists of four of our state's major family advocacy associations and the self-advocacy association: The Arc of California, California Association of Family Empowerment Centers, Family Resource Center Network of California, Family Voices of California, People First of California funded by: The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
We have a great new website http://www.pipcalifornia.org/ that will include information on our Partners Graduates and the kinds of activities that they are participating in to "be the change they want to see." Organzations looking for trained passionate advocates to serve on their boards, councils, commissions, task force, etc are encouraged to contact Jim Lockwood, our coordinator, listed below. We also conduct the application process on this site now and graduates have a private section on the site where they discuss advocacy issues and receive help from their peers.
If you have any questions please contact Jim Lockwood, [email protected], Parnters In Policymaking Coordinator at: 1-800-698-6619, 1-916-552-6619, Partners In Policymaking, c/o The Arc of California, 1225 8th Street, Suite 350, Sacramento, CA 95814.
